Athletic Director Welcome Welcome to Wesleyan Athletics! I hope that you enjoy learning more about our school and athletic program on our site.
The purpose of the Wesleyan Athletic Program is to minister the word of God to our student-athletes through athletics and witness to others in our community in their with walk with Christ.
The athletic department has a rich tradition of fielding competitive teams in the state of North Carolina. We are fortunate that God has blessed us with the following accomplishments over the years: 19 team state championships 19 runner-ups in team state championship titles 15 individual/single sport state championships 20 individual/single sport runner-ups in state championship titles 19 different sports and 37 teams 75% of our student body participates in at least one sport
During this time, we have witnessed many students excel both in the classroom and in the athletic arena. More importantly, we have seen them graduate and take their commitments to Christ into the communities in which they study, live, and work. The dedicated staff and coaches of Wesleyan Athletics truly believe that we are an integral part of this outcome. Wesleyan Athletics continues to focus on developing important personal attributes such as leadership, teamwork, responsibility, attitude, good sportsmanship, respect, humility and spiritual growth. Student-athletes endure rigorous athletic training while maintaining commendable grades in a challenging academic environment, and develop discipline, motivation, and self-esteem. Striving to win and obtaining personal academic excellence go hand-in-hand. Our hope and prayer is that the Athletic department will continue to be used as a tool to ensure that all athletes have the opportunity to obtain that which is eternal through a personal relationship with Christ. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in learning about our mission and athletic department. Thanks for your interest in Wesleyan Athletics In Christ, Ricardo Viera Athletics Director
